Location: New York City
Client: Jean Louis Bourgeois
Project Status: Idea sketch 2012
Sketch of timber bridge above the Lincoln Highway by The Hudson River going in to Manhattan. A project ordered by Jean Louis Bourgeois, son of the late visual artist Louise Bourgeois. The bridge was meant as an advertisement for a memory park for his late mother. Bourgeois imagined oyster-sculptures in the roofing of the bridge, because he meant that NYC not is The Big Apple, but The Oyster City, due to all the oysters that grow in The Hudson River.
